This post is intended to help developers configure WordPress. The following lines of code can be added to wp-config.php to enable/disable ( replace ‘true’ with ‘false’) updates to the WordPress core and/or plugins.
File name: wp-config.php
- Location: root install-directory.
Constant to Enable All Updates
- To ensure that all types of automatic updates are completed, core or otherwise, add the following to your wp-config.php file:
1define( 'AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED', false );
Constant to Configure Core Updates
- To enable automatic updates for major releases or development purposes, the place to start is with the WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE constant. Defining this constant one of three ways allows you to blanket-enable, or blanket-disable several types of core updates at once.
1define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', true );
